Google Wave - Email Step Aside

The two brothers who brought the world Google Earth have teamed up again to produce their next incredible Google service: Google Waves.
It will be released later in 2009 and will be the next huge improvement in communication.
Basically we communicate through email online and it is a series of messages from one person to another or others. Replies may happen or not and keeping meaningful track or attempting to collaborate with email is way too awkward.
Email was invented a long time ago, and not much has changed.
Google has decided to image how online communication would work if it were invented today instead of decades ago.
And, they have succeeded. Google Waves is a dazzling and easy-to-use collaboration tool. You open a thread and others can comment on any part of it. After a while the page may be littered with so many comments that it is hard to see what is happening. So, there is a 'playback' feature that allows you to start at the beginning and watch the history of the collaboration.
Many people can edit the same document and conflict resolutions is seamless.
Also, they are inviting programmers to create Applications in an Open Source way to allow the creativity of millions of programmers around the world to enhance Google Wave by already having many Applications already ready on its launch date.
Possibly the prettiest feature is online as-you-type translation between any two of forty languages. I've seen it in operation. As you type each character of your sentences, the computer senses the context and begins translating, one character at a time -- as fast as you can type. You can watch the words appear in any other language as you are hitting each keystroke. It's truly a huge advancement.
